FLAMINGO "FUN" RAISER
Flamingo Fun Raiser is sponsored The Parkston Pool Committee team to raise money for the Fun raiser of the New Slides for the Parkston Pool. Borrowing the idea from the internet, we decided to raise money by “flocking” people with flamingos. For a small donation, we would sneak into someone's yard and flock them with 8-12 of the pink plastic birds. Then, for a donation from that household, we would forward the flock to someone else’s yard. We even offered flamingo insurance to anyone who did NOT want to be flocked! Many organizations who use this idea get their picture on the front page of the local newspaper, so it’s great publicity. This fun-raising activity is to Help all our children to enjoy the pool and have fun at the pool to keep them safe in the summer. Any questions please call Teresa Mann 928-3021 if you would like the insurance or would like to pay to have someone flocked. All the money raised and donated will go to the Parkston Pool for the slides...

Siouxland Community Blood Bank will be at Avera St. Benedict Wellness Center for the Parkston Community Blood Drive on 8/28/08 from Thursday August 28th. This drive is sponsored by Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society. To schedule an appointment please call Kathy Bower @ 928-3777. Siouxland Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood products to Avera St. Benedict Hospital. Donate Blood “It’s about Life”, as on unit of blood can help save up to three (3) lives.

SNOWMOBLILE & ATV GRASS DRAGS IN PARKSTON
The Dakota Ditch Rippers are having their 4th annual Snowmobile and ATV Grass Drags on Sunday, August 3 located at Parkson 2 miles west and 3/4 mile north of Junction 37 and 44.
